Character info
Character name: Laios Touden
Canon: Dungeon Meshi
Canon point & release date: Near the end of the manga but not at the end!
Powers (no more than 150 words): Autism beam
(no this is a joke Laios is a regular guy at the moment)
Personality
What is your character most afraid of? How are they defined by this fear? (100-300 words) More than anything, Laios is afraid of people. He has spent his life not understanding them and not being understood by them: he has faced rejection and fear and seen the cruelty of the people around him (in their rejection of him for his personality, in their rejection of Falin and her magic). To Laios, monsters make sense. Their behavior can be mapped onto their desires and their instincts, and so they make sense, but people are shrouded in culture and obligation and social mores. They mystify Laios, and the things he's most afraid of are the things he can't hope to understand.
What is your character's greatest desire? How are they defined by this desire? (100-300 words)
Laios wants to be a monster! Not in personality, not in metaphor, but in fact: he wants to shed his human form and become a monster. He thinks monsters are, by and large, better than people. They make sense. They're beautiful and powerful and strong, in his eyes, and it's clear he'd like himself better if he could permanently be a monster rather than a person. This desire dovetails with his other greatest wish, which is a world where monsters and humans exist together rather than the separate spheres of dungeon and surface.
How will not having memories change your character? What core personality traits, if any, will change? How? (200-300 words)
Laios honestly won't change much without his memories. He'll stay the calm, collected person he is in most situations, and remain excitable when something that he's passionate about comes up. He still won't be able to pick up on most social cues or know what to do with them when he does pick them up. Without the full depth of his monster knowledge, he won't be as confident in his problem-solving. Without the memory of all the rejection he experienced as a kid at the hands of his parents and other people, he'll be a little more open and ready to make friends, although that was sort of the case anyway.
Memories
You have 10 memory points. How will you use them?
Dungeoneering skills: 3 points.
Laios will retain his dungeoneering skills, including solving puzzles, and a baseline of dungeon / monster knowledge (think overall monster vibes rather than specific info).
Sword skills: 2 points.
Laios remembers how to use his sword.
Relationship core with Falin: 3 points
Relationship core with Falin: he knows that he grew up with a close sibling who he felt he had to protect. He knows that they are missing. He knows that he needs to find them.
Cooking skills: 2 points.
Laios is a good cook, and knows how to improvise with various ingredients. He remembers some of what Senshi has taught him, although not how, or who, or when he learned those things.
Points remaining: 0
